Bourbon Barrel Bar Stool

Jason Cohen, of Jason Cohen Wood Artisan, takes old Kentucky bourbon barrels and creates art – art that is also furniture. Bar stools in this example. The simplicity of design combined with the use of authentic bourbon barrel parts – flaws and all – creates a perfect union of patina and strength.

It’s the type of stool equally at home in your grandpa’s barn or in the portfolio of the most astute decorator.

According to Jason, some people are concerned that the wood legs will break because of the angle, but they have been molded for years to that form, and it makes it strong. The wood is green when cut, and after liquor has been poured into it, the wood is nearly petrified.

These bar stools are handmade, so no two are exactly alike. The Bourbon Barrel Bar Stool measures 31″ high, 17″ wide, and 15″ deep.
