Healthy Dining at Finest Playa Mujeres

I really wasn’t sure how I would stick to my healthy eating plan while I was on vacation but I did it (with a few treats thrown in of course, it was vacation, come on!) I’m not on any fad diet or anything weird, but I do try to keep it light and healthy and I was worried that an all-inclusive resort would lead me down the road to temptation with quick and easy food EVERYWHERE.

Thankfully, healthy dining was EASY, the buffet and the specialty restaurants gave me oodles of options of palate pleasing delights that stayed within my healthy guidelines. Every meal was perfect, this was not the generic all-inclusive buffet I dread at most resorts.

Breakfast

The buffet at The Market Kitchen was the perfect way to start my day with a big healthy breakfast. The sweet breads were tempting but I resisted! There were lots of fresh fruits available, yogurt and granola and they prepare a mean egg white omelet with spinach! I never imagined that oatmeal could be THAT GOOD, the perfect mix of banana and cinnamon, seriously delicious and healthy.

Lunch

My favorite lunch spot was definitely Duke’s Lobster & Seafood. The octopus tostada with chipotle was SO GOOD and the Peruvian ceviche, well, let’s just say I ordered it again and again. And again. The quinoa salad with zucchini and dried fruit had the tastiest lemon vinaigrette and the grilled vegetable wrap was divine.

Dinner

Here’s where things get complicated. I can NOT decide on a fave! I had so many wonderful dinners, I don’t even know where to start. The steamed grouper at Le Petit Plaisir, the gohan rice with spiced salmon at Shoji, the chicken breast with grilled shrimp with crunchy veggies at Surf & Turf, the list literally goes on and on. While I don’t normally indulge in dessert, I may have given in to temptation for the fruit plate with lychee and sake sorbet at Shoji. Layers of flavor, magic!

I was so thrilled by the healthy dining at Finest Playa Mujeres, I was blown away by just how many options I had! I was able to stick to my diet and indulge in great flavor at the same time. Everything was fresh, everything was cooked perfectly, I think I need to hire one of the chefs to come home with me. How do you stay healthy on vacation?
