Our friends at ReWined Candles in Charleston are creators of one of Bourbon & Boots’ most popular products. We’re happy to feature them again. The folks at ReWined truly embody Southern ingenuity with their Wine Bottle Candles!

Recycled glass, wine-themed, 11 oz., 100% soy candles with 100% cotton wicks, which will burn 60-80 hours. The soy burns smoothly without producing black smoke like inexpensive candles.

Why:  Every single part of the process is done by hand from collecting the more than 1000 used bottles every week (generously donated from Charleston area restaurants who now delight in telling customers that their bottles are truly recycled), cleaning the bottles, removing labels, making the 100% soy candles and inserting the 100% cotton wicks, pouring the candles, and wrapping the glass containers with hand pressed labels that are made by a local shop in Charleston.
You Should Know: Beau Burdette and his buddy Adam Fetsch were working in a South Carolina restaurant.  Adam decided to take some of the bottles home, experimenting with them at first, making drinking glasses, but the cuts were not to his standards. Long story short, Adam’s wife saw the glasses and suggest that the wide base of the sparkling wine bottles would make ideal containers for candles. ReWined Candles was born.
