Sam Dog Barbecue Sauce
We're pretty much pet people at Bourbon and Boots, specifically dogs of all types. Meetings at Mike's place aren't complete without each participant receiving a thorough screening by the Chief Security Officer, Jack, and his Deputy, Oliver, two great dogs.
So when we discovered Sam Dog Barbecue out of Bridgeport, Alabama, and saw the adorable picture of real life Sam Dog in the kitchen, we had to try it… and boy are we glad we did. This stuff will blow your sox off.
For $7.99 plus $4.50 shipping, you'll get a bottle of Yellow Dog Sauce (that's their sweet mustard blend, nothing to do with politics, we assure you). Great on chicken, and the folks at Sam Dog provided a recipe we're sharing just to get your taste buds started.
Like they say at Sam Dog, "Stay saucy, y'all!"
Tender Barbecue Thighs
This is a simple recipe for some really tender and tasty chicken.
1 pk of ten or so boneless thighs
1 bottle italian dressing (not creamy)
Your favorite bbq rub
Your favorite sauce (We suggest Sam Dog's Yellow Dog sauce)
Place the chicken in a pan and pour the dressing over it the night before. Let set over night. The next morning pour off the dressing and sprinkle both sides of your thighs with the bbq rub and let set for the day. That evening put on smoker at 250′F and cook til almost done. Coat both sides of the thighs with your sauce and let cook in. Pull from smoker and serve.
