Albemarle Fizz

The Albemarle Fizz is a drink that was originally made with gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup and egg white. It was originally named for the Albemarle Club in London where it was first served. The original recipe was created in Charlottesville, Virginia by two friends who were tired of mixing up their own drinks when they entertained. It is now made with gin, raspberry syrup, club soda, lemon juice and sugar syrup. It's great for brunches or parties or just to sip on the porch at sundown. Variations of this drink include orange juice, triple sec, or a dash of grenadine to make it a “Melba.” The Albemarle Fizz Cocktail also includes a splash of ginger ale and a lime wedge garnish for extra flavor.
