Almond Martini

Almond Martini cocktail is one of the most popular cocktails in the world. The first recipe of an almond martini that we have been able to find comes from "Jerry Thomas's Bartenders Guide" published in 1887. In this recipe, he mixes amontillado sherry with sweet vermouth, dry vermouth and a dash of absinthe or pastis. In the early 20th century, Almond Martini was a common drink at bars in San Francisco. The drink was made with a mixture of vodka, dry vermouth, and white crème de noyaux. It is garnished with a slice of sweet almond and cocktail onions. It is best served chilled.
