Anise Vodka Tonic is the best tasting vodka tonic that you can try. It has an interesting taste that will make you want more of it. This drink has its origins in the Turkish culture, but before that it started in India and Persia with a similar recipe called “Anisa.” The word “Anisa” comes from the Arabic word for licorice.

Anise Vodka Tonic is a popular cocktail recipe that is made of vodka, Tonic water, and anise. Some variations of this cocktail call for gin instead of vodka. Some recipes use both gin and vodka. Some recipes call for the addition of ginger beer, some don’t.

The most popular variation of this cocktail recipe is when it’s mixed with lemon juice instead of tonic water.

Spirits Used:


¾ ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
¾ ounce anisette liqueur
1½ ounces vodka
Tonic water
Lemon wheel for garnish


1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the lemon juice, anisette liqueur, and vodka.
2. Add ice and shake to chill.
3. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with the tonic water.
4. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
