Bourbon A La Crème

The history of Bourbon A La Crème is a little fuzzy. The recipe first appears in the 1930s, but there is some debate as to whether it should be considered a true cocktail or just a flavored milk shake. However, it is technically a cocktail because it has alcohol in it. It also has coffee liqueur which would have been an alcoholic drink back then. Some say that the drink should be considered as just a milk shake because it doesn't have any other alcohol besides bourbon and coffee liqueur. Bourbon a la Crème is one of the most popular cocktails at The Bourbon Room, one of the best cocktail bars in New York City. This drink is also known as "Screwdriver on steroids."
