Long Island Iced Tea

In the 1980s, the vodka and tequila had become popular and it was common for bars to offer a standard "Long Island Iced Tea" as a way of enticing people to order the drink. The "Long Island" came into use because of its geographical location with respect to New York City and its reputation as a more relaxed, laid-back locale than New York City. This cocktail became even more popular than ever when it was featured on "Sex and the City", in an episode of season 4. This is because the lead character Carrie Bradshaw is seen drinking this type of cocktail frequently on her show. With new flavors like berry, mango and watermelon coming out, sales surged again in summer 2017.
