Mango Daybreak is a tropical drink that has been popular in the United States for decades. The drink is most popularly served during breakfast hours. It was originally made with vodka, but most modern recipes use rum.
It was invented in the 1970s by Jim Berry, who is credited with inventing many of the most popular cocktails in America at the time. No one knows when or where he first created it, but there are conflicting accounts about who named it and when they were introduced to it.
2 ounces mango juice
1 ounce vodka
¼ ounce grenadine
Orange slice for garnish
1. In a cocktail glass, combine the mango juice and vodka.
2. Add ice and shake until chilled.
3. Pour the grenadine into a cocktail glass and strain the mixture on top.
4. Garnish with an orange slice.
