Rum with a View

Rum with a View is a cocktail, made up of dark rum, fruit juice, and grenadine. It was invented in 1938 by John Duffy at the San Francisco Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The drink is also known as Tequila Sunrise. However, there are many stories about how this cocktail got its name. One story says that the cocktail was invented for a lady who had just traveled from Mexico to California on the Sunset Limited train. Another story says that it was named after a hotel in Hollywood where it was served during prohibition due to its pink color resembling champagne.
