The Vermillion cocktail is the perfect drink for the holiday season. It is Christmasy and red just like Christmas, but it also has a grapefruit flavor that brings out the citrus in the drink. It was created in 2008 by bartender Liza Weisstuch who now runs her own bar called Westlight in New York City. The sweet and sour flavour of the Blackberry, Lemon Verbena and Mint Syrup compliments the botanist gin base perfectly.
⅕ ounce Campari
2 ounce Bourbon whiskey
1 ounce Sweet Vermouth
1 ½ ounce Apricot liqueur
1. Swirl Campari in chilled cocktail glass to coat inside; discard excess Campari.
2. Stir remaining ingredients with ice and strain into glass.
3. Add orange twist. Serve in a Cocktail Glass.
