Vodka Gimlet

The Vodka Gimlet was introduced to the British Navy by Vice Admiral Sir Thomas Dilkes in 1869 during his tenure as head of the Royal Navy Medical Department. It was originally referred to as "Tomato Gin" because of its similarity to the Bloody Mary. This cocktail is a mixture of vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup. Today, it is usually served in a cocktail glass but can also be served on the rocks or blended with ice.
