Whimsy

Whimsy is a new and improved version of the classic cocktail, the Mimosa. It is perfect for those who love to start their day off with a freshly squeezed orange juice and champagne. A lot of people think that this drink dates back to the 1800s, but that’s not the case. The earliest recipe for the Whimsy cocktail was published in 1953 by bartender Jerry Thomas Jr., who was also known as “Professor” Jerry Thomas Jr. It is a cocktail that brings together the tart and tangy notes of lemon with the rich, smoky flavors of bourbon. The lemon wedge is dressed in orange volcanic sea salt to add an extra kick to the drink, while the Fernet enhances it's warming taste.
