Start the Year Off Right with Gifts for Teachers Posted by: Aaron Stearns | 0 Comments

While you’re taking photos of your kids on their first day of school and lamenting the loss of half your paycheck on school supplies, it might be nice to consider your child’s new teacher. Start the year off right by letting teachers know you care.

Here’s a few ideas for your child’s teacher that will brighten his or her day in the classroom or during her off-duty hours. Maybe your child isn’t teacher’s pet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t try out for the role.

Shotwell Gourmet Caramels: $9.75
These caramels come in four flavors — original salted, craft beer & pretzel, hand-crushed espresso and old-fashioned cocktail. They’re chewy, sweet and will be appreciated for as long as they last, which might not be more than a few days.

Monk’s Cold-Brewed Coffee: $14
This 100 percent organic, fair-trade cold-brewed coffee is lush, and naturally low in acid, which is easy on the stomach. Each bottle is 16 ounces and enough to make 4 to 6 drinks.

Screen Printed Animal Tea Towels: $16
These adorable towels will brighten up the kitchen or the classroom as they cheerfully clean up spills and messes. Choose from a bear, fox, owl, deer or caribou.

Country Music Coin Purse: $26
A girl can never have too many little bags, and these with the faces of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash or Dolly Parton have just these right amount of kitsch.

Small Batch Bourbon Truffles: $28.50
Bring these small batch bourbon truffles on the first day of school and you’ll move straight to the head of the class. These are belgian-style chocolates paired with the some of Kentucky’s finest bourbons.

Use Your Inside Voice Print: $25
You can bet teachers spend a good part of their day telling students to use their inside voices, and we bet she’d appreciate a print that does the work for her.

Pocket-sized Handmade Journal: $34
Each page is hand-torn and is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.
